The economic development and prosperity of the African continent has been linked to the capacity of African governments and people to reduce the burden of diseases.
African Ministers of Health at the 3rd African Health Ministers’ Conference in 2007 committed to the strengthening of health systems and developing social protection systems, particularly for poor and vulnerable groups in society, aiming to promote greater access to health care services while protecting families from debt traps due to health emergencies.



The African Union “Implementation Plan for Achieving Universal Access to HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (ATM) Services (2007-2010)
